Rory and his Family
Rory has been programming since he was little, always thinking up ideas either to write stories or with his toys. As a kid that struggles with ADHD, the ideas constantly flow. He has written countless short stories ever since he could write even the simplest of words. When he discovered coding, it unleashed potential he didn't even know he had. He could now express himself to anyone in the entire world- but there was a catch. He actually had to LEARN the coding languages. So, at around 1-2nd grade, he started up coding on Scratch Jr. Now, this coding software was very limited, and yet he found some way to get around it. This shows that you can't put any limits on creativity.
After about 3rd grade, Rory had pretty much stopped coding entirely. His friend, who created BytStuff, had already been coding in complex coding languages such as C# at 9 years old. One day, that friend reccomended that he use Scratch. It was a lot less limited then Scratch Jr, and a lot more fun. But Rory thought he wasn't ready for that yet. Fast forward about 3 years, and you will see Rory sitting at a desk, bored out of his mind. So, he decided to give Scratch a shot. It was all downhill from there. Rory got hooked on Scratch, and kept on making games until about the end of 7th grade. He had wanted to move onto a new, fresh coding language. So, he picked up Python. This was my first text based coding language. And just as fast as he got addicted to Scratch, he was addicted to Python. He created several amazing programs such as Sticky Note Simulator and a text based Pokemon game!
Now, he had gotten really good at Python. Now it was time to bring out the big guns. He got into web development. First up into the tank was HTML. He worked on the HTML side of things for months, and got pretty good at it. It was not until a few long months after he figured out what CSS and JavaScript were. Rory immediatley got to work, practicing CSS and JavaScript a lot in his free time. That gets us to where we are now.
Some of Rory's favorite hobbies now include Rubik's Cubing, Riding four wheelers, and playing with his dog.
